Felicia Kanu, LMSW
Hey there, I’m Felicia (she/her)! I’m a Black queer cis woman on a mission to make therapy welcoming, accessible, and empowering for everyone. My approach is all about clear communication, warmth, and an open, inclusive mindset. Whether you're in individual or couples therapy, I’m here as your guide and supporter, creating a brave, space for growth.

I truly believe that you are the expert of your own life, and I'm excited to join you on your journey of self-discovery and understanding. My therapeutic style is rooted in acceptance, non-judgment, and growth. I draw from approaches like Attachment-based Theory, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and other evidence-based practices, all with a holistic, alternative twist.

Additionally, my therapy is informed by intersectional and decolonized perspectives, including Black Feminism, Queer Sexualities, Fat Liberation, Ethical Non-Monogamy, Disability Justice, Sex Positivity/Kink, and Liberation Health. While these aren’t the only things that shape my practice, they play a key role in how I will support you. Let’s work together to explore and grow in a way that’s as unique as you are!

I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) from the Smith College School for Social Work and am currently working toward my licensure in Georgia under the supervision of Tricia Anbinder. I offer virtual and in-person sessions in Decatur, GA.
Each 50-minute session with me is $150. Currently, all sessions are self-pay. However, if you would like to file for insurance reimbursement, I can provide a superbill. If you are interested in scheduling a free 15-minute phone or video consultation to discuss your needs or to determine if we’d be a good fit, please use the calendar link below:
